Contact enquiries

The Contact form collects your first and last name, email address and message so Adrian can read and respond to your enquiry. Squarespace processes and stores the submission and associated contact record. Notifications are sent to author@adriananderson.au through Google Workspace, and Adrian accesses correspondence using Microsoft Outlook. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to reader updates. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or information about other people that is not needed for your enquiry.

Reader updates

Signing up for INDEX Universe — Reader Updates is voluntary. The signup asks for your email address, and Squarespace stores your subscription, confirmation status, list membership and recorded subscription activity and timestamps. You receive a confirmation email and must verify your address before your subscription is confirmed. Contact enquiries do not enrol you in reader updates. You can withdraw your subscription at any time by emailing author@adriananderson.au.

Website operation, analytics and cookies

Squarespace hosts this website and processes technical information to deliver, secure and operate it, including IP address and information about your browser, network and device. Its built-in analytics can provide limited pageview and traffic information even when analytics cookies are restricted. Non-essential cookies are restricted, and the detailed Analytics activity log is disabled. Necessary cookies and other operational processing can still be used. These restrictions do not block every third-party cookie or identifier.

Spam protection and presentation

The Contact and newsletter forms use Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam and abuse. Google processes technical information for risk analysis and may use its necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie. The site also loads Squarespace assets and Adobe Fonts resources for presentation. Adobe states that its web font delivery service does not set or use cookies to serve fonts, although it receives the IP address needed to deliver them.

Service providers and overseas processing

Squarespace processes website, Contact and subscription information. Google provides Workspace email and reCAPTCHA, Microsoft Outlook is used to access correspondence, and Adobe supplies font resources. These providers may process information outside Australia; information is not represented as stored only in Australia. See their privacy information below for more about their processing. Links to Facebook, Instagram and Dream Kids Australia lead to separate websites governed by their own privacy practices.

Keeping information

Contact submissions, contact records, correspondence and subscription records are stored in the relevant services. Retention depends on the purpose of the record and any applicable legal requirements; this website does not currently use a fixed automatic deletion period. Deleting a record from an active service may not immediately remove copies held in provider backups or records a provider must retain.

Privacy requests and concerns

Email author@adriananderson.au to ask about personal information held about you, request access, correction or deletion, withdraw your newsletter subscription, or raise a privacy concern. Include enough information to identify the relevant enquiry or subscription. Please do not send identity documents unless an appropriate verification method has first been agreed. Requests are considered in light of applicable law, any information that needs to be retained and the relevant provider’s controls.
